ScoutSocial connects to six major social media platforms, letting you create, schedule, and publish content from a single dashboard. Each platform has its own strengths, content types, and requirements - ScoutSocial handles the differences so you can focus on your message.

Connecting Your First Account

To get started with any platform:

1. Open the More menu (☰) at the bottom of the left sidebar, then click Settings
2. Expand Social Media Accounts
3. Click the + Connect a social account button and choose the platform in the picker
4. Follow the OAuth authorization flow to grant ScoutSocial access
5. Once connected, the account appears in your account list and is ready to use

How Authentication Works

ScoutSocial uses OAuth 2.0 to connect to all platforms. This means:

• You never share your password with ScoutSocial
• You authorize specific permissions (like posting and reading analytics)
• You can revoke access at any time from the platform's settings
• ScoutSocial automatically refreshes tokens to keep your connection active
