Supported Content - Instagram

Supported content types

ScoutSocial supports the following Instagram content types for AI generation:

• Caption - An Instagram image/video caption with hashtags
• Reel - A 3-90 second Instagram Reel
• Carousel - Multi-image Instagram carousel (up to 10 slides)
• Story - Instagram Story for ephemeral content

Feed posts (single image)

• One image with a caption
• Supports JPEG and PNG formats
• Maximum image size: 8MB
• Recommended aspect ratio: 1:1 (square), 4:5 (portrait), or 1.91:1 (landscape)

Carousels

• 2 to 10 images in a single post
• All images in a carousel should ideally use the same aspect ratio
• Each image follows the same format requirements as feed posts

Reels (video)

• Short-form video content
• Supported formats: MP4, MOV
• Maximum file size: 1GB
• Duration: 3 seconds to 90 seconds
• Recommended aspect ratio: 9:16 (vertical)
• Recommended resolution: 1080x1920 (9:16 vertical); minimum height 960px

Stories

• Image or video content that disappears after 24 hours
• Image stories: same format as feed posts
• Video stories: up to 60 seconds

Caption features

• Up to 2,200 characters
• Supports hashtags (up to 30 per post, 20+ is not recommended)
• Supports @mentions
• Supports emojis
• Line breaks are preserved
