TikTok limitations
Content type
- No text-only posts - Every TikTok post must include a video or one or more images
- Photo carousels - Photo Mode slideshows of up to 35 images are supported; larger sets are truncated to 35
- No live streams - Live streaming must be done directly in the TikTok app
Account requirements
- Creator eligibility - TikTok may require minimum follower counts or account age for API posting
- Developer approval - TikTok API access requires developer application approval
- Account standing - Accounts with community guideline violations may be restricted
Publishing restrictions
- No scheduling - TikTok does not support native scheduling via the API. ScoutSocial manages scheduling for you
- No post editing - Once published, videos cannot be edited through the API
- No post deletion - Videos must be deleted through the TikTok app
- Processing time - Videos require processing on TikTok's servers (may take 1-5 minutes)
Rate limits
- Daily post limit - TikTok limits the number of videos posted per day per account
- File size limits - Up to 4GB per video (uploaded directly in chunks)

Analytics
- Basic video metrics available (views, likes, comments, shares)
- Detailed audience analytics are limited compared to other platforms
- Metrics may have a delay of several hours
