Video requirements and content options for TikTok posts through ScoutSocial.
Supported content types
ScoutSocial supports the following TikTok content types:
- Video - A TikTok video post
- Photo carousel - A TikTok Photo Mode slideshow of up to 35 images
Video posts
TikTok supports video posts and Photo Mode slideshows via the API. Every post must include either a video or one or more images (text-only posts are not supported).
Video requirements:
- Formats: MP4, WebM, MOV
- Maximum file size: 4GB (uploaded directly in chunks)
- Duration: 3 seconds to 10 minutes
- Resolution: Minimum 720p, recommended 1080x1920 (9:16 vertical)
- Aspect ratio: 9:16 (vertical) recommended; 1:1 and 16:9 also accepted
Caption and metadata
- Caption: Up to 2,200 characters
- Hashtags: Include in the caption text, prefixed with #
- Privacy level: Public, Friends Only, or Private (self only)
- Interaction settings:
- Allow comments (on/off)
- Allow duets (on/off)
- Allow stitches (on/off)
File size limits
Videos up to 4GB are supported. ScoutSocial uploads the file directly in chunks.
Publishing
ScoutSocial handles the complete upload and publishing process automatically. You'll see a real-time status update as your video is processed and published.
