Content types and media requirements for Facebook posts through ScoutSocial.
Supported content types
ScoutSocial supports the following Facebook content types for AI generation:
- Post - A standard Facebook feed post for pages or profiles
- Reel - A Facebook Reel for short-form vertical video (9:16, minimum 540x960, 3 to 90 seconds; capped at 60 seconds when shared as a Story)
- Story - A Facebook Story photo or video (9:16, minimum 540x960, 3 to 60 seconds)
Text posts
- Plain text updates to your Page
- Up to 63,206 characters (though shorter posts perform better)
- Supports emojis and line breaks
Image posts
- Single image with caption
- Formats: JPEG, PNG, GIF
- Maximum file size: 4MB
- Recommended minimum resolution: 1200x630 pixels
Video posts
- Upload videos directly to your Page
- Formats: MP4, MOV (MP4 recommended)
- Maximum file size: 10GB
- Maximum duration: 240 minutes
- Minimum resolution: 720p recommended
Link posts
- Share a URL with auto-generated preview card
- Facebook crawls the link for Open Graph metadata (title, description, image)
Scheduling
- Facebook supports native scheduling - posts are scheduled on Facebook's servers
- Facebook handles delivery directly, ensuring posts go out even if your internet connection is unavailable at that time
- Schedule up to 6 months in advance
