Connecting Twitter/X

ScoutSocial uses Twitter's secure OAuth 2.0 authorization to connect your account.

Steps to Connect

1. Open the More menu (☰) at the bottom of the left sidebar, then click Settings
2. Expand Social Media Accounts and click Connect next to Twitter/X
3. You will be redirected to Twitter's authorization page
4. Review the permissions and click Authorize app
5. You will be redirected back to ScoutSocial with your account connected

Important: Twitter API Access

Twitter's API v2 requires a paid developer subscription for write access (posting tweets). This is a Twitter requirement, not a ScoutSocial limitation. If your tweets fail to post, verify that your Twitter developer account has an active paid plan (Basic tier or higher at $100/month or more).

Revoking Access

To disconnect Twitter/X from ScoutSocial:

1. Open the More menu (☰) at the bottom of the left sidebar, click Settings, expand Social Media Accounts, and remove the connection, or
2. Visit Twitter Settings > Security and account access > Apps and sessions > Connected apps and revoke ScoutSocial's access
