Content & Posting FAQ
Common questions about creating, scheduling, and publishing content with ScoutSocial.
Content & Posting
How does AI content generation work?
ScoutSocial's AI content engine analyzes your topic and produces platform-optimized posts ready to review and publish. You provide the topic, platform, and preferences, and the AI handles the rest.
Can I edit AI-generated content before posting?
Yes. All generated content goes to your My Posts as a draft. You can edit the text, change media, adjust settings, and approve before scheduling or posting.
How do I schedule a post?
There are several ways to schedule content:
- From Create Posts - After generating content, click "Schedule" and pick a date/time (or accept a suggested time)
- From My Posts - Select a draft and click "Schedule"
- From the Calendar - Drag and drop content to a specific date/time
What happens if a scheduled post fails?
ScoutSocial automatically retries failed posts. If the retry also fails, the post is marked as "Failed" in My Posts. You can view the error reason and retry manually. Common causes include expired tokens (reconnect the account) or content violations.
Can I post to multiple platforms at once?
Yes. When generating content, you can select multiple platforms. The AI optimizes the content for each platform's format and requirements. Each platform gets its own version of the content.
How do I use My Posts?
My Posts uses these tabs:
- Inbox - Ideas and articles from your configured sources
- Draft - Content still being edited or reviewed
- Scheduled - Queued for automatic publishing at a set time
- Posted - Already published; check status and open analytics
An Approved tab (content that passed review and is ready to schedule or post) appears only when your organization requires post approval. With approval turned off (the default), My Posts shows the four tabs above.
Use Manage Sources on the My Posts page to add feeds and set how often each source is checked for new items. Details are in the My Posts guide.
Can I bulk schedule content?
Yes. In My Posts, you can select multiple drafts and schedule them in bulk. You can also use the Calendar for visual scheduling.
What's the difference between "Post Now" and "Schedule"?
- Post Now - Immediately publishes the content to the selected platform
- Schedule - Queues the content for a specific future date and time; ScoutSocial publishes it automatically at the scheduled time
