Supported Content Types - LinkedIn
All the content types you can create and publish on LinkedIn through ScoutSocial, including text posts, images, videos, documents, and polls.
Content Types
ScoutSocial supports the following LinkedIn content types for AI generation:
- Post - A standard LinkedIn feed post for connections and followers
- Article - A structured long-form LinkedIn post with sections (max 3,000 chars)
- Image Post - A LinkedIn post with multiple images (2-20), each with alt text
- Poll - A LinkedIn poll with question and 2-4 answer options
In addition to AI-generated content, you can publish these formats through ScoutSocial:
Text Posts
Standard LinkedIn feed posts with text content. LinkedIn allows up to 3,000 characters per post. You can include hashtags, mentions, and links within the text.
Image Posts
Single image or multi-image posts attached to your text content.
Image requirements:
- Maximum file size: 8 MB
- Supported formats: JPG, JPEG, PNG, GIF
- Dimensions: Minimum 100x100 pixels, maximum 8192x8192 pixels
Multi-Image Posts
LinkedIn supports posts with 2 to 20 images (organic posts only). Each image follows the same requirements as single image posts.
Video Posts
Upload video content directly to LinkedIn.
Video requirements:
- Maximum file size: 200 MB
- Supported format: MP4
- Duration: 3 seconds to 10 minutes
Document Posts
Share PDFs, PowerPoint presentations, and Word documents as native LinkedIn document posts. Viewers can swipe through pages directly in the feed, making this format popular for educational and carousel-style content.

Article / Link Posts
Share a URL with an automatically generated preview card including a title, description, and thumbnail image.
Poll Posts
Create interactive polls to engage your audience. LinkedIn polls appear directly in the feed and allow followers to vote.
Reshares
Reshare existing LinkedIn posts with your own commentary added.
