What is Create Posts?

Create Posts is ScoutSocial's core content creation page. It produces platform-optimized posts for LinkedIn, Twitter/X, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube. You provide a topic or source material, choose your settings, and the AI handles writing and review.

How to access it

Click Create Posts in the left sidebar. You can also reach it from My Posts when starting a new generation.

Key functionality

Providing source material

Start by entering a topic, pasting text, or providing a URL. You can also add a title to guide the AI's focus. The more context you provide, the better the output.

Choosing a platform and content type

Select your target platform and content type. Available content types change based on the platform: for example, LinkedIn offers posts and polls, while Instagram offers reels and stories. Carousels are created by attaching media (several images, or a PDF or document on LinkedIn for a swipeable document carousel) rather than by picking a separate content type.

Customization options

Fine-tune how the AI generates your content:

• CTA style - Control how calls-to-action are presented (soft, direct, or none)
• Compliance strictness - Adjust how carefully the AI avoids sensitive claims (balanced, strict, or lenient)
• Language - Generate in the language of your prompt automatically, or choose a target language

Emojis and hashtags are added automatically based on the platform and content type, so there is no manual toggle for them.

Research & Review

Next to the content-mode pencil in the composer, a Research & Review toggle switches AI generation from a fast single-pass draft to the full pipeline: deeper web research plus a fact-check and review pass. Posts still auto-search the web when a topic needs current facts even with it off. Research & Review is available on the Professional plan and above.

AI Credits

Full pipeline and quick-draft runs debit AI Credits from your workspace pool. ScoutSocial shows an approximate cost before you start. Publishing and scheduling do not use credits.

Background generation

Content generation runs in the background. Once you start a generation, you can navigate to other parts of ScoutSocial and come back when it is done. A progress indicator shows the current stage.

Reviewing results

When generation completes, you will see the finished content along with:

• The generated text, ready to copy or edit
• A content editor dialog for making adjustments before saving
• Options to save as a draft, schedule, post now, generate an image, or start a new generation
• Diagram and image generation dialogs for visual content

Scheduling from Create Posts

Click Schedule after generation to open the scheduling dialog. ScoutSocial suggests optimal posting times based on your engagement history. You can accept a suggestion or pick a custom date and time.

Saved preferences

Your generation settings (platform, tone, hashtag count, etc.) are saved at the organization level. When you return to Create Posts, your last-used preferences are automatically restored.

Tips

• Use Research & Review for topics that need factual accuracy or up-to-date information. It takes longer but produces more detailed content.
• Set your preferred defaults once in the advanced options. They persist across sessions.
• Start with a clear, specific topic rather than a vague one.
• Use Custom instructions to enforce brand guidelines, mention specific products, or exclude certain topics.
• Try different content objectives for the same source material to create varied posts for different platforms.
